Holding hands may seem like an innocent gesture, but they show more than a simple interlocking of fingers. Your hands are one of the most essential parts of your body: you build with them, feed with them, hold with them, touch with them, fight with them; they are the tools of the human body. To take a hold of another’s hand is to break from living individually. It is to link yourself to another being, to momentarily entwine your life with another’s, to promise, for a moment, that you need not face the world alone. More simple, more aesthetically naive than other forms of affection, i.e kissing, hugging, sexing.., the act of holding hands is often trivialized in its true implications. As the Beatles once said” all I want to do is hold your hand .”

My first day I brought two sleeping bags (one for Micaella), one luggage, and a pillow, felt so awks bringing all that to school. But kinda cool in a way hehe. I roamed around the school wondering where I’d put my things the entire time bcause it could not fit into my locker-_-
Found out that we have a big changing room to put all our junkies there yay! Soon I headed off to first period; business. We had a supply, so class was pretty chill. I didn’t feel like working on my project so I read my english book Speak instead.
By second period, there was at least someone else who was going to faithfast in my class, actually two. I had another supply and she was soooooo chilled! The entire time Ryan and I were waiting for announcements to call for us. We didn’t bother to do our work, cause it was all just questions about the book-_-
By third period, they finally called us down! We all changed into our civvies and met up into the chapel to get into our groups and receive our tshirts, and lemme let you the tshirts were super adorbbbs :3 It was even a vneck!
We headed to the bus at our first stop; Classic Bowl. It was okaay, my group was so awks I only knew two people there; Liane and Camille, soyeuh. Bright side I scored two strikes in a row (y) Most of the time I just had real talks with Virgil.
So other than that, we also went to Laser Quest which was super fun and exciting because it was my first time there. I gotta admit though I was hella scared at first ,I had no clue on what to do $: But after a few hits and shots it got really interesting. I kinda broke the rule about no teaming up, hehe I’m naughty. I teamed up in like the middle of the game with Angel, it was pretty fun but super hard cause all the guys were at the high road and kept shooting us >_<
We got at got to go in twice and me and Liane got stuck behind with our group so we had to wait for the next, next one. At the time there was also a birthday party too, so they took up space. We managed to meet up with the other group and while waiting ofc we’d take picture like the little asians we are (y)
So after bowling and Laser Quest we unfortunately had to go back to school. On our way back tho we saw like a billion pizza pizzas, subways, and other fast food resturants, The Lord was testifying me. But it was good cause my group of friends all got together again. They gave us a really good yoga class, but it was so funny with all the poses and standing upside down -ish, lol. After we have 10mins of free time so my group of friends just played hand games we made back in grade 8. Then we got invited to play some super-ninja-octopus game, I don’t what they called it ..
Soon they called us to the lecture hall, and the game ended off with three guys tryna get at each other and Mariana jumping from the back LOL. On our way to the hall Brittney and Micaella got giddy for me because my crush talked to me during the game and they were like ‘omg, omg, he talked to Chin!’ kinda embarrassing bcause we were kinda loud, but still cutesy.
Once we got into the lecture hall we did two activities there, I honestly don’t remember which one came first but we did had to make a dance/skit to the song that was chosen by our group leaders. And our dance, sucked -.- They gave us 30mins and we got the song Someone Like you by Adele. Not that I hate the song or anything, but it was such a slow and depressing song and we couldn’t think of anything. We were tryna to avoid presenting but Criselle had to yell out that one group didn’t go, so we ended up going-.- Tho our dance was only 10secs long.
The other activity we did was that the teach showed us the Kony Video and that our actions shouldn’t be based on that video alone. We headed off into our groups again to make posters about Kony or ending World Hunger (thus faithfast). Lemme tell you our group was the most awkwardest and shyest group out there. Like no one talked and we all just stood around waiting for the teachers to call us back. It was the awkwardest thing ever, I wanted to leave so badly..
By then it was already getting late, and we felt all tired and worn out. We got our sleeping bags and pjs and set up for bed. But before the lights out, we gathered into the chapel where we had a nice reflection of the day and wrote one thing that we wish someone would say to us. We went up one by one to pick someone else’s paper and read what they wrote I thought it was really cute and I almost teared up a bit :’)
Before going to sleep we wanted to call Aimee and chill out cause we didn’t feel like sleeping anymore. Everyone got a chance to talk to her, until the teacher told us to go to bed. But lights weren’t even out until midnight, so we just had talks. Micaella was the first one to fall asleep and I was the second. Though I can still hear them talking. Bianca kept stepping on us and woke us up lol. She ended up telling us about Squidward’s Suicide and it creeped the hella outta me!
Morning came, and I was surprised I didn’t get nightmares about Squidward. Apparently my alarm clock turn on playing Party Rock Anthem at 5am in the morning $: WHOOOOOOOOPS.
Anywho’ I got up quickly to get ready or else it might get crowded in the washrooms. I honestly didn’t know where to go after cleaning up the lecture hall. I didn’t know where anyone was, so I just sticked with the early school comers.
We headed off around 9am to Denny’s and the food was amazingggggg! I wasn’t that hungry after my sleep, but still the smell of it was heaven! Sadly my tummy was only hungry for one plate :(
We did eventually get out group photo, but I didn’t give the teach my camera in time so I didn’t get a copy + it was freezing cold outside, everyone just hurried back into the bus after the photo was taken.
After all the fun and tummy aches I didn’t want faithfast to be over. Especially cause I had a test last period and I didn’t get anytime to study for it-_- I did however had extra 20$ hanging around my pocket incase I get thirsty and I needed to buy me some juice. I decided to buy a lotta junky foods in the cafe as a celebration of our success and last day of school before march breaks kicks in.
So that was basically mylast two amazing, wonderful days during lent before march break. I honestly hope there will be more events like that later on, and foshoore going to next year’s faithfast! (;
